NCS 12 Hour Fitness Challenge for PARC

Last week a group of 16 young people from NCS (National Citizen Service) took part in a 12 hour fitness challenge, as part of a Social Action Project, aiming to give back to the local community, raising over £300 for PARC in the process!

We were priviledged to be chosen by such a talented group of young people ~ "We chose this charity because we noticed how dedicated the workers are and how they support the community themselves. We respect and appreciate how PARC cater to each child’s individual needs."

The fitness challenge took place at Tabor Gym in Braintree with the day starting out at 9.00am. Until 10.00pm that evening, non-stop fitness challenges took place. An impressive bike ride on the exercise bikes from London to Paris (442 miles) ended up being extended by an extra 246 miles, the equivalent of traveling to Berlin!!

Three of the group's members also did a muscle-busting 12 hour workout, which included squats, burpees, and extended planks. Chelmsford Karate Club “Home of the Shotokan Tigers” kindly invited some of the group to take part in a beginners karate lesson and they also generously donated towards our cause.

To satisfy the gym members hunger, a delicious range of home-made cakes was also provided including brownies, jam tarts, lemon cakes, ciambella and lots more, helping to raise even more money for PARC!

It was an exciting and fruitful day and the team at NCS enjoyed raising money that will benefit families in the local community.

Everyone at PARC would like to give a huge THANK YOU to all who took part!
